Hi friends am here with a tutorial on Air dry terracotta jhumkas using moulds ..
so lets get started ...
you don't need any special tools to make impressions on jhumkas pen cap ,screwdrivers, saftey pin like these simple household items work perfectly for beginners..
Jhumka using Plain jhumka mould ..first apply some coconut oil and then take some amount of terracotta clay and place in the mould press it firmly and remove you will get a perfect neat jhumka..
so now what you need is to make impressions on it and place a eye pin so that you can dangle it to ear hook when it is dry..
after making impressions on it and placing eye pin place it a side to dry it takes 8 to 10 hrs to dry then you can color it..
Now i will show the jhumkas using the silicon pre-designed moulds ..
First apply a little bit of oil and then take some amount of clay and place in the design you desire and press firmly and remove excess clay if any ..and then turn the mould up side down and press from back side and your jhumka will be out with a perfect even design on it no need to make impressions.. :D
i will show bird design silicon mould and it has 2 studs and pendant design.. Place a little amount of clay and press then remove the excess and remove the clay by pressing back side and you will get a neat design of bird studs.. :)
These silicon moulds are so good i like them so much you get perfect shapes and lines on every jhumka.. bought these moulds in Bhooma terracotta moulds page on FB..
you can see the color variation between the dried and non dried ones
After drying attach the stud to the bird using quick fix..and attach the jhumka to the stud..
and final part coloring and done ..now you can style the jhumka with matching outfits... :)
These are few pairs of jhumkas i made using silicon moulds..
Hope you find this useful and like the jhumkas..
Thanks for stopping by ...have a nice day :)
